Center for European Voluntary Service in Moldova
European Voluntary Service
You are from a European country:
You want to do your EVS in Moldova
You want to do EVS ABROAD
You are Moldovan:
You are a Moldovan NGO:
You want a volunteer from Europe
However, you will be provided with a monthly allowance to cover all your living expenses. The costs of accommodation, food, international transport and local transport related to your project, insurance and pocket money are covered by the Youth in Action programme of the European Commission. You will receive free language training to enable you to live and work in your destination country.

Duration of your project: 1 to 12 months.
You can work in many different areas: art and culture, sport, social work, healthcare, environment, etc. Also, you can find a project which is the closest to your interests.

Who can participate?
Any citizen of Moldova Republic or another nationality with valid residence permit aged between 18 and 30 and wishing to assist as a volunteer in non-governmental, non-profit and public organizations.

Why to become a volunteer?
For many reasons! First, it is an opportunity to travel the world, discover a new culture, learn or practice a new language.
It is also good for CV improvement. Contrary to “Work and Travel”, the EVS programme gives you a really professionalizing experience and can make you gain work experience in the professional area you have chosen for your project (art and culture, sport, social work, ecology…) and which you can later value on the job market. You can even discover your vocation through an EVS!
It is a unique opportunity to make new and international friends and widen your social network for future opportunities. You will be able to contribute to your local community, be young ambassadors of your country abroad, make people discover your culture, discover theirs.
And of course, the EVS makes you develop yourself! By living abroad, in a new and challenging environment, you develop decision making skills, you become more independent, and a more active citizen.

What should I do to become a volunteer abroad?

1. Contact ICCD!

You are welcome to contact us if you are considering opportunities to be a volunteer abroad. We will be glad to assist you in finding the project, explaining you how the EVS program works, answering all of your questions and undertaking responsibilities of being your sending organization.

2. Find a host organization!

You can access the database and search for a project right that matches your interests:
http://ec.europa.eu/youth/evs/aod/hei_en.cfm
if you did not find a project for yourself, we can start working together on finding a new partner abroad. Remember, to work out all technicalities takes up to several months, so, if you decided to become volunteer, contact us in advance.

3. Complete the application!

When all three partners (you, your sending organization and the host organization) have agreed a placement and clarified all practical arrangements, our organization and your host organization will submit your application to the European Commission. If your application is accepted, you will be given a grant which will cover all costs, such as travel, insurance, board & lodging, training and your pocket money.

Please keep in mind! You do not have to pay to perform an EVS but you will not receive a salary (you will receive a monthly allowance to cover basic needs, e.g. 125 Euros/month for France).
